I will preface my first entry with saying that I've never blogged before, so excuse my elementary abilities!

Yes, we are adopting from China. 
What we know about her:
Her Chinese name is Hong Xin Lin
She's 19 months old.
Her birthday is December 14, 2011.
She was found shortly after her birth, lived in an orphanage for 3 months, and is currently living with a foster family in Nanchang, China.

We started this process in August, 2012 and went through the home study process with a social worker, took some classes, and filled out a million forms. We were working with an agency and I happened to see a picture of Nora on another agency website. BAM! I just knew...I had a feeling something was going on, something was happening. We decided to switch agencies to AAC Adoption and Family Network in Colorado. We sent our LOI (Letter of Intent to adopt) on June 6th, received PA (Pre-approval) on June 15th and received our LOA (Letter of Acceptance) on July 23rd from China. This is the official document we take with us to make her part of our family.
What's left to complete the process? Some papers from the US Immigration and our TA (Travel Approval) from China! Current trends suggest we will travel in October. We will be in China for approximately 2 weeks where the adoption is finalized, and when we land in the US, Nora will be the newest American citizen! This seems to be the best way to keep friends and family informed and to chronicle our trip for Nora to see when she is older. We've been working on her room...pictures to come soon 💖
